About me

My story

1992

I WAS BORN in 1992 and brought up in Villars, a small village in the Swiss Mountains. As soon as I could walk, I was trying on my brother's ski boots and couldn't wait to get onto the snow. At the age of two I started to ski and a passion was born.

2004

BY THE AGE OF 12 I had raced in my first ski cross event and I knew this was the career for me. It provided me with the perfect combination of the competitive side of alpine racing and the adrenaline rush of freestyle skiing.

2008

I TURNED PROFESSIONAL when I was 16, and with the help of my parents and some generous patrons, I was able to create a private coaching team led by the Boardercross World Champion, Guillaume Nantermod. Guillaume and I worked together for a decade before I came into the Swiss Ski coaching structure.

2010

MY FIRST WIN came just under a year later in Innichen/San Candido. From there, things were moving quickly in the right direction with two more second places in the 2010-11 season. However, just as I was starting to get consistently good results, I tore everything in my knee and the doctors told me I would never ski again. I could not accept this, and decided to prove them all wrong. I was out of competition for 11 months but my time away from the sport I am passionate about, only served to fuel my determination.

2012

MY COMEBACK came in the 2012-13 season, I could never have dreamed of a better return to competition. I won the first three World Cup races of the year and I was on the podium in six out of the ten races and won the Crystal Globe as the world's top-ranked ski cross racer. To top off my dream season, I won took the Gold Medal at the World Championships in Voss, Norway

2018

IT'S HARD TO BEAT THE FEELING of finally achieving my dream of winning an Olympic Medal. My journey to my beautiful bronze medal was not always easy, but in the end that made finally winning it even more sweet.

In the future

I HOPE I STAY FIT AND HEALTHY and be able to ski my best and enjoy my sport for as long as possible. I plan to race until at least one more Olympic Games in Beijing in 2022 and after that who knows...
