Hi there,

This is Guillaume Nantermod writing, Fanny Smith coach.

After winning the quali by almost a second and a half in front of Austrian rider Offner, Fanny won all her finals runs.

The big final was really tough, Fanny had a bad start, running the course in second position. She had more speed but could not pass as the Austrian. Offner was cutting the way. But in the second to the last bank Fanny decided to take her responsibilities and pass. It was really engaged but worked out!

Fanny said: “This is one of the best day of my life, everything went as planed” . Mission accomplished for her.

Now we are staying 10 more days here in NZ to train in a really good environment. We have a great half pipe, big jumps , start gates and a great course.

So Fanny is over motivated with this big start of the season.

New Zealand – Gold in SX at Last!

Fanny would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the friends who have made this possible.

This was probably the most important day for our Stoeckli Skis. We did everything we could to select the fastest skis. A good days work on the glacier. I was happy and everybody was exhausted. We visited the Stoeckli factory a month ago with Walter and his team. My first experience in a ski factory. Everybody was great and I learned a lot.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the “Jan Anders Sladek Foundation” who’s help is making it possible for me to go to New Zealand and compete in the World Junior Championships. Skiing and Skateboarding will always be a passion for Jan, Michael and myself.

Everyone Skateboards in our family. Indiana Skateboards supplied me with two skateboards that I use for my training. Of course the whole family is trying them out. The new Indiana Skateboards are great and a lot of fun.

Fanny Smith selection  2010-2011. Fresh News. I have been selected as member of the National Team with Sanna Luedi for next year. With Guillaume and Jocelyn we will do the best we can to merit the trust that has been put in us.

Last week I was able to train technique with Denis Wicki and my school friends from Brig in Zermatt. Boy was it fun. I learned a lot. Actually it is fun you think you know a lot, then you learn a lot. This is  great.

Today I was invited to present my sport for the school children at pré fleuri. Great questions and interest on behalf of all of them.

On marche comme des fous c’est splendid. Premier jour deux étapes d’un coup “10hr” nuit a la belle étoile.

Puis! la météo devient capricieuse. 2eme jour  vent, soleil, brouillard, tonnerre, grêle et “tutti quanti”, nuit blanche.

Sac de couchage mouillé, chevilles tordues, mais une bonne douche chaude un bon repas puis on se retrouve au paradis. Il faut vraiment peu pour être heureux “the simple bear necessities of life” dixit Balou dans le livre de la Jungle.

C’est reparti 3eme jour meteo changente. On est a Vizzavona et partons pour le refuge l’Onda. Pour ceux qui n’ont pas remarqué nous faisons le parcours du sud au nord. La journée se termine par du vent et un peu de pluie, on finit au sec super.

Suite apres demain. Grosses bises a tous Fanny.

Le printemps est arrivé mes tests physiques aussi. Un peu plus lourde un peu plus forte. Pas si mal encore après une saison de ski. Maintenant on prépare le physique jusqu’en automne puis on refait les tests pour comparer. Manu Praz et Raphaël Faiss me suivent depuis un moment déjà c’est rigolo.

Off to Corsica with Guillaume we will train on the GR 20 trail. It seems very interesting if the weather is good we will have a very beautiful trek. Will keep you informed.

Plein d’amis et d’amies c’etait vraiment formidable. Une soirée d’encouragement exceptionnel qui me donne vraiment envie d’y mettre le paquet.
